2010 Jazz Concert
Lancaster, KY - You are invited to "Come Sit a Spell" says the Governor William Owsley House Foundation, Garrard County Arts Council, and Lancaster Woman's Club as the organizations announce today a community wide FREE jazz concert "Come Sit a Spell" featuring the BAJA Jazz Ambassadors of Lexington to perform on the Governor William Owsley House lawn on Saturday, August 8, 2009. The lawn will open at 4 PM, with food and alcohol vendors opening at 5 PM followed by the performance from 6 - 8 PM. All proceeds with benefit the host organizations.
The concert will act as the official launch for the Garrard County Art Council's "Come Sit a Spell" fundraiser, a year-long art contest where families, organizations, and artists decorate historic Owsley House Captain's chairs to be auctioned off in Spring 2010.
Primary sponsor for the event is Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center. Additional sponsors are Ephraim McDowell Lancaster Diagnostics, Garrard County Public Schools, Godfather's Italian Restaurant, Lancaster Liquor, Lancaster Quick Stop, Liquor Mart, Mariachis Mexican Restaurant, and Bluegrass Portables. The feature sponsor for the upcoming arts contest is First Southern National Bank.
