Welcome to “Pleasant Retreat” the Garrard County home of Kentucky’s 16th Governor William Owsley (1844-1848) and later home to the family of his daughter Amelia & son in law, the Congressman, Simeon H. Anderson.

Located on Stanford Road (US 27) in Lancaster’s Outer Bluegrass, this community restored three-story antebellum farm house captures both the spirit of “My Old Kentucky Home” and state’s early 19th century political life.

The house & grounds are open from 10am - 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
